TINUBU SWEARS IN TWO NEW RMAFC FEDERAL COMMISSIONERS AS CHAIRMAN CHARGES THEM TO UPHOLD EQUITY, TRANSPARENCY

The Chairman of the Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC), Dr. Mohammed Bello Shehu, OFR, has warmly welcomed the appointment and swearing-in of two new Federal Commissioners into the Commission by the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR.

The President yesterday administered the Oath of Office on Abdullahi Mukhtar Muhammad, MON, FCIA, fsi, representing Kaduna State, and Hajiya Amina Ibrahim Gamawa, representing Bauchi State, as Federal Commissioners of the Commission. The appointment further strengthens the Commission’s mandate of ensuring fairness, transparency and fiscal sustainability in the mobilisation, allocation and disbursement of revenues accruing to the Federation.

Dr. Shehu described the appointments as timely and significant, noting that the wealth of experience, professional competence and public service records of the two Commissioners would add immense value to the work of the Commission.

According to the Chairman, “On behalf of the management and entire staff of the Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission, I warmly congratulate and welcome our newly sworn-in Federal Commissioners. Your appointments are a call to greater national service and a recognition of your distinguished records of integrity, competence and dedication.”

He urged the Commissioners to remain committed to the constitutional responsibilities of the Commission, emphasizing the need for teamwork, professionalism and patriotism in advancing the Commission’s strategic objectives.

“The Commission occupies a critical position in Nigeria’s fiscal architecture. I am confident that your wealth of experience will strengthen our collective resolve to promote equity in revenue allocation, enhance revenue mobilisation and contribute meaningfully to the nation’s economic growth and development,” Dr. Shehu stated.

The newly inaugurated Federal Commissioner representing Kaduna State, Abdullahi Mukhtar Muhammad, MON, FCIA, fsi, is a seasoned administrator, legal practitioner and public servant with extensive experience in public administration, diplomacy, security studies and institutional leadership. He previously served as Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) and has received national recognition for his outstanding service, including the national honour of Member of the Order of the Niger (MON).

Similarly, the Federal Commissioner representing Bauchi State, Hajiya Amina Ibrahim Gamawa, is an accomplished legal practitioner, journalist and political strategist whose career spans the judiciary, the National Assembly, Corporate Affairs Commission, Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund, National Youth Service Corps and several strategic national assignments. She also played notable roles in strengthening the National Blood Transfusion Service and served in various high-level capacities within the All Progressives Congress (APC), earning commendation for her exemplary contributions to national development.

Dr. Shehu assured the new Commissioners of the Commission’s full support as they settle into their responsibilities, expressing optimism that their appointments would further enhance RMAFC’s capacity to discharge its constitutional mandate efficiently and effectively.

The Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission remains committed to promoting fiscal federalism, accountability and prudent management of the nation’s resources in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda of the present administration.
